As a tournament, War-Bots Xtreme Inc. is actively searching for companies that are interested in providing sponsorships to provide additional prizes and prize money for competitors. Sometimes during this process, companies will express a preference to provide sponsorship to competitors. The objective of this page is threefold.

1) To help potential sponsors and competitors connect.

2) Provide information to sponsors visiting the WBX web site.

3) Provide information to competitors to improve their chances of receiving the help they need.

Information for Sponsors

The funds WBX receives from sponsors is used to provide prize money and subsidies for the competitors. Quite simply, more prize money means more competitors from across Canada and the United States. The more competitors the greater the excitement, the greater the excitement the more we encourage young people to develop engineering and design skills. Not to mention attracting more people to visit Saskatchewan. By providing support for War-Bots Xtreme tournaments, you also help yourself! The excitement of this sport means visibility for your business! Fans will fill the stands and media will cover the event. Supporting us gets your logo and information out!

Understandably, your company may enjoy providing sponsorship to individual competitors. Competitors do need your help. Building a combat robot requires hard work and dedication. Competitors will put many hours into building their combat robot. For some, the expense of purchasing electronics, motors and materials can be prohibitive. By providing assistance to a competitor through funds, resources or even your own specialized skills and knowledge. You will be encouraging people to develop engineering and design skills, understanding in trades such as electronics and machining, and developing abilities in physics and mathematics. Competing before a crowd can be nerve wracking for the novice competitor, but many will overcome this with experience. In many ways competitors are developing skills and traits that are highly valued in the workplace.

We encourage you as a sponsor to find an arrangement that works for you and the competitor. Many competitors will be proud to place your companies name and logo on their combat robot an on their team uniform or t-shirt. Some competitors will have well designed web sites where you can have your company's logo and name prominently displayed. Helping competitors develop into a winning team attracts the attention of media and spectators.

Information for Competitors

As a competitor seeking sponsorship the emphasis is on you. You must be prepared to make yourself, your team, and your combat robot attractive to sponsorship. Here are some things that you should keep in mind if you are looking to attract a sponsor.

1)    Have a combat robot. This may sound a bit ridiculous, but the fact of the matter is that a few scratches on a piece of paper and a half empty box of parts just won't cut it when it comes to attracting sponsorship. Having your combat robot completed is best, but if its not then keep working on it. 80% completed will still attract sponsors, and maybe all you need is a few more components, or you only need to upgrade a few parts.

2)    Be prepared to show the sponsor that you are committed to competing. Show them a well thought out budget of expenses. Tell them when and where you plan to compete. Nothing is worse than a competitor who accepts help from a sponsor then disappears into the woodwork. So be prepared to follow through on your commitment.

3)    Don't be afraid to let the sponsor know what you need. Better motors, entry fees, travel expenses, team uniforms, services such as machining custom parts, special services or knowledge that the sponsor can provide.

4)    Let the sponsor know what you can do for them. Put their company name and logo on your robot. If you have internet access, then your internet service provider most likely provides you with space for a web page at no additional charge. Create a web page telling about your combat robot and be prepared to put information about your sponsor, their name and logo on your web page. And don't forget that valuable link to their web site.

5)     Keep your sponsor up to date on your progress, stay in touch with your sponsor, let them see what you've done and the progress your making. Let them know when your having problems and what your doing to fix them.

6)     Your sponsor is giving you help, either through funds, parts and supplies, or through specialized resources and knowledge. Give them your very best!

What WBX will do.

As our search for potential tournament sponsors is an ongoing process, we will be watching for potential sponsors who would enjoy providing assistance to a competitor or team. When a company or individual expresses an interest in sponsoring a competitor, we will provide them with a list of contacts and contact information. It will then be up to the potential sponsor to contact you. In some cases a potential sponsor will express interest in a particular combat robot or team. If this is the case, and if the company or individual provides consent, WBX will forward to the competitor relevant contact information. It will then be the responsibility of the competitor to contact the potential sponsor. It will be up to you and the sponsor to arrange an agreement that works best.

War-Bots Xtreme Inc. can not accept any responsibility for the arrangements made between competitor and sponsor. The only service we are providing here is to provide contact information. We can not guarantee or accept responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of information provided to sponsors or competitors in this regard. Nor can WBX accept responsibility for any arrangement/agreement, or failure of arrangements/agreements that competitors and sponsors reach.

War-Bots Xtreme Inc. encourages sponsors and competitors alike to act in a responsible manner and to work together as doing so is in the best interest of sponsors, competitors and the sport of combat robotics in general.

On behalf of competitors War-Bots Xtreme Inc. expresses gratitude and a big "Thank You" for their support to:
